Nachts etwas Regen, morgens tr\u00fcb, da fiel es leicht, Abschied zu nehmen. Denn zum Mt. Rainier, unserem heimlichen Ziel, lohnt es sich auch heute vermutlich nicht.<br \/>\nSo haben wir uns auf unsere heutige Etappe von ca. 120km in Richtung KOA-Astoria begeben.<br \/>\nAstoria liegt an der M\u00fcndung des Columbia-Rivers, dessen immense Wassermassen in den Pazifik flie\u00dfen. Durch die starke Str\u00f6mung gegen die Gezeiten des Meeres entstehen hier sehr gef\u00e4hrliche Strudel und Unterstr\u00f6mungen, denen in dem vergangenen Jahrhundert viele Schiffe zum Opfer gefallen sind.<br \/>\nDer Campingplatz liegt nur ca. 2km vom Meer entfernt, nur getrennt von einer wenig befahrenen Stra\u00dfe und dem Fort Stevens Statepark.<br \/>\nWir waren schon gegen 13:00 vor Ort und haben die fr\u00fche Stunde genutzt, um unsere neuen Fahrr\u00e4der auf einer Fahrt zur K\u00fcste zu testen. Dort war es so sch\u00f6n und ruhig, dass wir die Gelegenheit genutzt haben, am Strand ein St\u00fcndchen zu ruhen.<br \/>\nUngewohnt f\u00fcr Marianne waren die Autos am Strand. In vielen Strandabschnitten ist es hier durchaus \u00fcblich, den Fu\u00dfweg zum Strand abzuk\u00fcrzen, und sein Auto direkt am Wasser zu parken.<\/p>\n\t\t<div
