Ausschlag gab dann letztendlich die Wettervorhersage, Windst\u00e4rke bis 9. Da wollten wir nicht unter den B\u00e4umen stehen, fallende \u00c4ste k\u00f6nnen vielleicht unangenehm werden.<br \/>\nSo sind wir deutlich sp\u00e4ter als angedacht, erst gegen 11:00 losgefahren, aber unsere heutige Etappe war auch nur ca. 130km lang. Einziges m\u00f6gliches Handicap ist die Grenze. Die Zollbeamten waren sehr freundlich, aber konsequent. Zuerst wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, dass seit Anfang des Jahres auch bei Einreise \u00fcber Land, die ESTA notwendig ist. Man kann sie online beantragen, aber da kostet es, hier konnten wir die Einreise auf einem Papierformular beantragen, da war es kostenlos. Bei Einreise im Trailer werden der PKW und der RV auf nicht erlaubte Dinge durchsucht, der Zollbeamte bekommt den Schl\u00fcssel und geht allein auf Tour durch die Fahrzeuge. Bei uns haben sie dann eine Mango, zwei Avocados, einen Bund Fr\u00fchlingszwiebeln und drei Tomaten beanstandet. Rindfleisch, Schweinefleisch, Wurstwaren und K\u00e4se gingen ohne Beanstandung durch. Bei dem Gem\u00fcse war &#8222;falsch&#8220;, dass es aus Mexico kam, im Stein der Avocado irgendeine undefinierbare Made sein k\u00f6nne usw.<br \/>\nAber ansonsten ging alles sehr reibungslos vonstatten. Nach gut einer halben Stunde waren wir wieder unterwegs in Richtung S\u00fcden.<br \/>\nWelch ein Unterschied gegen\u00fcber Kanada, das Land war hier topfeben, wir sahen viele bestellte Felder, in Kanada gibt es oft nur Heuwirtschaft und Blaubeeren, hier war das Bild wesentlicher vielf\u00e4ltiger.<br \/>\nAuf der letzten Strecke vor unserem Ziel, dem Larrabee Statepark s\u00fcdlich von Bellingham, war die<br \/>\nStra\u00dfe so eng, dass wir recht langsam fahren mussten. Leider war kaum ein Blick auf den Pazifik m\u00f6glich, weil auf dem gesamten Weg eine Villa neben der anderen die K\u00fcste s\u00e4umte.<br \/>\nSchnell war der RV aufgebaut, und wir konnten uns auf den Fu\u00dfweg zu der Bucht machen, von der ich Marianne vorgeschw\u00e4rmt hatte, weil sie mir im vergangenen Jahr so gut gefallen hatte. Wie gro\u00df war da die Entt\u00e4uschung, baden verboten, Rotalgen haben zurzeit den Strand vergiftet. So konnten wir uns nur in die Sonne setzen und denken, was w\u00e4re, wenn&#8230;.<br \/>\nBei unserem R\u00fcckweg zum Campingplatz wollten wir abk\u00fcrzen, und sind auf den Gleisen einer Eisenbahn gelaufen, immer horchend, ob wieder ein lautheulender Zug uns \u00fcberholen will. Und kaum hatten wir uns neben den Gleisen in die B\u00fcsche zum Campingplatz geschlagen, h\u00f6rten wir den Zug laut pfeifend nahen. Gl\u00fcck gehabt.<br \/>\nSchon bald sind wir nach Bellingham gefahren, unsere konfiszierten Lebensmittel aufgef\u00fcllt, und entdeckten, dass dies ein wundersch\u00f6ner alter Ort ist, den wir
