{"id":2201,"date":"2013-06-21T05:42:41","date_gmt":"2013-06-21T03:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/freidling.de\/wordpress\/?p=2201"},"modified":"2013-06-30T08:11:15","modified_gmt":"2013-06-30T06:11:15","slug":"lava-beds-national-monument","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/freidling.de\/wordpress\/?p=2201","title":{"rendered":"Lava Beds National Monument"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>20.06.2013<\/strong><br \/>\nOh was war es in der Nacht so kalt, ich habe gedacht, dass die Decke zu kurz sei, an den F\u00fc\u00dfen zog es von allen Seiten, da habe ich einfach noch eine Decke dr\u00fcber gelegt und schon wurden sie wieder warm.<br \/>\nMorgens hat mich dann wieder seit langem die Sonne geweckt. Es wurde ein wundersch\u00f6ner sonniger Tag, so w\u00e4re es f\u00fcr gestern gerade recht gewesen. Heute ging es nach S\u00fcden zu den Lava Beds, die hatte ich auch schon mal in 2005 besucht, auch hier hat sich einiges ge\u00e4ndert, es sind einige neue H\u00f6hlen erschlossen worden, aber insgesamt sah es noch so aus wie vor acht Jahren.<br \/>\nAuf dem Weg dorthin bin ich am Tule Lake Refuge vorbeigekommen, einem ausgedehnten Schutzgebiet im wesentlichen f\u00fcr V\u00f6gel und andere Wassertiere. Hier an einigen Beobachtungsstellen konnte man viele V\u00f6gel hautnah beobachten. Die paradiesische Ruhe wurde nur von Vogelstimmen unterbrochen. Ich habe es genossen, die Ruhe zu genie\u00dfen und zu beobachten, was so vorbeischwirrte.<br \/>\nWenn man doch wenigstens mehr der Tierarten mit Namen kennen w\u00fcrde. Also nur Fliegvogel, Wasservogel oder fliegender Wasservogel. Etwas weiter weg habe ich denn auch noch wei\u00dfe Pelikane gesehen.<br \/>\nWeiter zu den Lav Beds. Die Formationen und H\u00f6hlen haben alle recht fantasievolle Namen, wie Symbol Bridge, Sentinel, Big Painted Cave, Black Crater, Hopkins Chocolate usw. Es gibt hier hunderte Stellen, H\u00f6hlen und mehr, die derart benannt sind. Faszinierend aber auch bedr\u00fcckend ist es in so eine H\u00f6hle einzudringen. Der Eingang ist gut zu sehen, beschildert und mit Treppe oder auch Leiter versehen. Doch dann kaum ist man zehn Schritte in so einer H\u00f6hle, sit die Welt da oben weg, kein Wetter, kein Licht, nichts, nur noch H\u00f6hle, mal flach, so dass man sich nur tief geb\u00fcckt vorw\u00e4rtsbewegen kann, ein paar Schritte weiter kommt man in einen Saal.<br \/>\nUnd der Ausgang? Weit bin ich nie eingedrungen, nicht allein, und es fehlten mir zwei Taschenlampen, die Parkranger haben drei Taschenlampen empfohlen, und auch kein Helm. Aber spannend war es doch.<br \/>\nUm das Visitor Center waren einige kleine H\u00f6hlen, nur ein paar Schritte lang, weiter drau\u00dfen z.B. im Cave Loop braucht man schon eine komplette Ausr\u00fcstung, wenn man tiefer eindringen will.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ein Tip, wenn man die Bilder in Originalgr\u00f6\u00dfe speichert, erh\u00e4t man die Koordinaten, wo die Fotos gemacht
